Program Description
Sheridan College’s Pharmacy Technician program prepares students for a vital role in the healthcare system, working alongside pharmacists to ensure the safe and effective use of medications. The curriculum covers key areas such as pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, dispensing techniques, and pharmacy law. Students learn to prepare and dispense medications, manage pharmacy inventory, and provide patient care in a pharmacy setting. The program also emphasizes the importance of accuracy, attention to detail, and ethical practice in the pharmacy profession. Graduates are eligible to write the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam and pursue careers as pharmacy technicians in community pharmacies, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.
