Program overview

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Regina campus is a 4 year bachelor's degree including a clinical placement the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN), delivered with the University of Regina.

The degree combines rigorous nursing science with extensive clinical placements across hospital, community and specialty settings, preparing graduates to write the national licensing examination and register as Registered Nurses. As a collaborative university degree, it carries both institutions' academic weight.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is the province of Saskatchewan’s public polytechnic, founded in 1959, with a graduate employment rate of about 96% — among the strongest in Canadian post-secondary education. The Regina campus places students in the provincial capital — home to Saskatchewan’s government, insurance and financial head offices, and a busy construction and industrial economy — in one of Canada’s most affordable capital cities. Graduates who stay and work in Saskatchewan can also pursue the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) and the province’s Graduate Retention Program, which rebates up to $20,000 of tuition through tax credits.

As a bachelor’s degree (CIP 51.3899 — Registered nursing and clinical nursing, other), graduates are exempt from Canada’s post-2024 PGWP field-of-study restriction and may qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit of up to three years (final decision rests with IRCC).

  • Community / Public Health Nurse — clinics and outreach programs
  • Rural & Remote Nurse — premium-incentive postings across Saskatchewan
  • Long-Term Care Nurse — the fastest-growing care sector
