Graduate Certificate - Information Technology Solutions

The Information Technology Solutions graduate certificate is a two-year postgraduate program — unusually long for a graduate certificate — covering the breadth of enterprise IT rather than a single specialism.

Content spans systems analysis and requirements gathering, database design and administration, programming and scripting, network and infrastructure fundamentals, cloud platforms and services, cybersecurity principles, IT service management and support operations, data analytics and reporting, and IT project delivery. Later terms allow specialisation, and applied projects run against real organisational problems.

The two-year length is the strategic feature. Under current rules a longer program supports a longer Post-Graduation Work Permit where the field of study is eligible, and the extra year gives international students significantly more time to build Canadian networks, internships and job search runway than a single-year certificate allows.

Humber Polytechnic — formerly Humber College — is Ontario’s largest public college and a Designated Learning Institution (DLI O19376943122). The North campus in Etobicoke is its main site, running technology, engineering, health science, business and skilled trades programs in purpose-built labs and shops rather than lecture halls, with three intakes a year and the deepest employer network in the Greater Toronto Area.

Its field maps to CIP 11.1001 (Network and system administration). Important: this is a college credential rather than a degree, so it is not exempt from the November 2024 PGWP field-of-study restriction — eligibility depends on this CIP field appearing on IRCC’s eligible list when you apply. Humber publishes a PGWP-eligible program list with CIP codes; check it, and confirm with an Apply Study Visa counsellor before committing. IRCC makes the final decision.
