Program overview
The Project Management – Information Technology graduate certificate is an eight-month intensive that applies project discipline specifically to technology delivery.
Content covers the project lifecycle against the PMBOK framework — scope definition, work breakdown, scheduling and critical path, cost estimation and Earned Value Management, risk identification and response, quality and procurement — then layers the IT-specific material: agile and Scrum delivery, software development lifecycle models, requirements elicitation and business analysis, vendor and systems integration management, change control in production environments, and project management tooling.
The IT specialisation is the point. Generic project management competes against experienced managers from every industry; technology delivery is where demand outstrips supply, and where an eight-month credential plus a Canadian placement can realistically produce a coordinator role. The coursework also supports CAPM and Scrum certification preparation.
Humber Polytechnic — formerly Humber College — is Ontario’s largest public college and a Designated Learning Institution (DLI O19376943122). The North campus in Etobicoke is its main site, running technology, engineering, health science, business and skilled trades programs in purpose-built labs and shops rather than lecture halls, with three intakes a year and the deepest employer network in the Greater Toronto Area.
Its field maps to CIP 52.0211 (Project management). Important: this is a college credential rather than a degree, so it is not exempt from the November 2024 PGWP field-of-study restriction — eligibility depends on this CIP field appearing on IRCC’s eligible list when you apply. Humber publishes a PGWP-eligible program list with CIP codes; check it, and confirm with an Apply Study Visa counsellor before committing. IRCC makes the final decision.
What it costs per year ยท indicative
Living cost is an estimate; tuition is the institute's published international fee. We confirm exact, current figures before you pay anything.
Do you qualify?
These are the published minimums. Whether your profile fits โ with your marks, gap and budget โ is exactly what a free counsellor check confirms.
Admission requirements
Who can apply (guide for international students):
- Education: A completed 2-year undergraduate diploma or higher from a recognised institution, with a minimum 50% overall.
- IELTS: Overall 6.5, no band below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT: Total 88
- PTE Academic: Overall 61
- Duolingo: 125
- GRE/GMAT: Not required.
Application fee $100 CAD, plus an initial tuition deposit of $2,000 CAD — Humber will not request your Ontario Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) until that deposit clears, so deposit timing drives your study-permit timeline. Admissions run on a rolling basis and popular programs fill months ahead under Canada’s international seat caps. Ask an Apply Study Visa counsellor to confirm current fees, seats and PGWP status before applying.

Career opportunities
Technology delivery roles hire steadily across Toronto’s tech and financial sectors:
- IT Project Coordinator — the standard entry role
- Project Manager — delivery ownership with experience
- Business Analyst — requirements and process work
- Scrum Master — agile delivery teams
- PMO Analyst — portfolio governance and reporting
- Implementation Consultant — software rollout and integration
- Release Coordinator — deployment and change management
Pair this with CAPM or Scrum certification — the combination is what converts the credential into interviews.
