College Diploma - Cosmetic Management

The Cosmetic Management diploma is a two-year program on the business side of the beauty and personal care industry rather than the treatment side.

Coursework covers cosmetic science fundamentals and product knowledge, skin and hair biology, the regulatory framework governing cosmetic products and claims in Canada, retail and beauty merchandising, brand management and cosmetic marketing, sales and client consultation, inventory and supply chain for beauty retail, digital marketing and influencer channels in the beauty sector, spa and salon operations management, and financial management for beauty businesses.

The distinction matters when choosing: this program prepares graduates to manage, market and sell within the beauty industry, not to perform treatments. Students who want hands-on esthetics work should take the Esthetician – Spa Management diploma instead. Beauty is a substantial and resilient consumer category, and the retail and brand side employs considerably more people than treatment rooms do.

Humber Polytechnic — formerly Humber College — is Ontario’s largest public college and a Designated Learning Institution (DLI O19376943122). The North campus in Etobicoke is its main site, running technology, engineering, health science, business and skilled trades programs in purpose-built labs and shops rather than lecture halls, with three intakes a year and the deepest employer network in the Greater Toronto Area.

Important: this is a college credential rather than a degree, so it is not exempt from the November 2024 PGWP field-of-study restriction — eligibility depends on this CIP field appearing on IRCC’s eligible list when you apply.
