Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) - Fashion Management

The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) – Fashion Management is a four-year business degree applied to the apparel and retail industry.

Specialised coursework covers fashion buying and assortment planning, retail mathematics and merchandise financial planning, trend forecasting and product development, textiles and production sourcing, global apparel supply chains and ethical sourcing, fashion marketing and brand management, visual merchandising and retail experience, e-commerce and omnichannel retail, and sustainability in fashion.

Merchandise financial planning is the content that determines careers here. Fashion buying is a quantitative discipline — open-to-buy, markdown cadence, sell-through and margin — and the degree-level treatment of it is what separates this from a two-year fashion diploma. Toronto is Canada’s apparel retail and wholesale centre.

All Humber Bachelor of Commerce degrees share a common business core across the first two years: financial and managerial accounting, microeconomics and macroeconomics, business mathematics and statistics, marketing principles, organisational behaviour, business law, information systems, operations management and business communication. Specialisation deepens through years three and four, alongside a work placement.

The work placement is a graded part of the program, so you finish with documented Canadian experience and a referee rather than only a transcript.

Humber Polytechnic — formerly Humber College — is Ontario’s largest public college and a Designated Learning Institution (DLI O19376943122). The Lakeshore campus sits on the shore of Lake Ontario in south Etobicoke, next to Colonel Samuel Smith Park, and is home to Humber’s business degrees, media and creative arts, and social and community services programs. Heritage buildings, a residence opened in 2024 and a free shuttle to the North campus make it the most distinctive of Humber’s sites.

Its field maps to CIP 19.0906 (Fashion merchandising). Because this is a degree, graduates are exempt from the November 2024 PGWP field-of-study restriction that applies to college credentials. Full-time on-campus study and graduation remain the conditions, and IRCC makes the final decision.
