Program overview
This four year honours route studies human societies across time and place: cultural anthropology, archaeology, linguistic anthropology and biological anthropology, with research methods, ethnographic fieldwork technique and theory running through every level of the degree.
Cape Breton Island gives the subject an unusually rich living laboratory, with Mi’kmaq communities, Gaelic settlement history, industrial coal and steel heritage and active rural community organisations all within reach of campus, which means fieldwork projects use real sites and real participants rather than case studies from a textbook.
Degree level programmes are exempt from the field of study requirement that applies to non degree credentials, so there is no CIP code to check for Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Undergraduate study such as Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology does not carry spousal open work permit eligibility under the rules now in force, which married applicants should factor in from the start. Every work permit decision rests with Canadian immigration authorities, and Apply Study Visa confirms the position for Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology in writing before you pay any deposit.
Entry is Grade 12 / High School with a minimum of 65 percent, and the English requirement is IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6 for Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Tuition for Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology is recorded at CAD 18,090 for the year, with a CAD 80 application fee, and the programme runs 7 intake windows across the cycles listed here. Apply Study Visa handles the Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology application, the attestation letter, the deposit and the study permit as one process.
