College Diploma in Journalism is taught at Conestoga College Doon campus, a public Ontario college. Read this carefully: the journalism diploma sits below degree level and does NOT appear on Conestoga’s own list of PGWP-aligned programmes. Treat the journalism diploma as carrying no post-graduation work permit unless Conestoga confirms an eligible CIP code for the journalism diploma in writing. Ontario additionally requires a provincial attestation letter before any study permit application for the journalism diploma.
Applicants to College Diploma in Journalism need Grade 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent. The English requirement is IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0, and tuition for the journalism diploma is recorded at CAD 15,477. Conestoga charges a CAD 100 application fee, and no scholarship is recorded against the journalism diploma. The journalism diploma lists only two entry windows. - Application and deposit: Conestoga charges a CAD 100 application fee. Confirm the tuition deposit and its refundability in writing before any money is transferred.
- Scholarship: No scholarship is recorded against this programme. Budget the full tuition.
- Work rights: The journalism diploma does NOT appear on Conestoga’s PGWP-aligned list. Assume no work permit unless the college confirms an eligible CIP code in writing. A PGWP also requires a language test at CLB 5 in all four abilities for college credentials, taken within two years of applying. This is separate from the English test you need for admission. No dependant work permit.
