Program overview

A four year honours degree in screen production, covering directing, cinematography, editing, producing, screenwriting and a substantial body of produced film work shot on professional equipment.

Toronto is one of North America’s largest production centres, and Oakville sits within commuting distance of it, which matters for the placements and crew work that build a screen career.

Bachelor of Film and Television (Honours) is taught at Sheridan College Trafalgar campus in Oakville, a public Ontario college on the post-secondary institution list. Because the film and television degree is a degree, it is exempt from the PGWP field of study requirement that applies to college level credentials. Sheridan records the film and television degree under CIP Not required. That exemption lets the film and television degree support a post-graduation work permit of up to three years whatever the subject. Ontario still requires a provincial attestation letter before the film and television degree can support a study permit application.

Applicants to Bachelor of Film and Television (Honours) need Grade 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 65 percent. The English requirement is IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0, and tuition for the film and television degree is recorded at CAD 24,184. Sheridan charges a CAD 100 application fee, and no scholarship is recorded against the film and television degree. The film and television degree lists only two entry windows, the earliest in 2027. Apply Study Visa manages your the film and television degree application, the deposit, the offer, the attestation letter and the Canadian study permit as one process.
