Program overview
Do you want a business degree that treats technology as a core subject rather than an add-on? The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in International Management and Technology at International Business University (IBU) combines international business with digital tools, data and design. You complete its 120 credits over eight consecutive semesters, about 32 months, at IBU’s campus on Bay Street in downtown Toronto.
Your first year lays the groundwork with Introduction to Business, Introduction to Accounting, Applied Economics, Organizational Behaviour, Introduction to Financial Analysis and Technology Literacy and Applications, alongside Global Trends and World Politics and a course in critical thinking. From level two the degree turns international and technical: International Management, Information Technology Applications, Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Project Management lead into Global Business Issues, Advanced International Finance, Data Analytics for Business, Advanced Data Analysis and Information Technology Management. Final year courses in Global Strategy, Technology Trends and Implications, Culture and Design Thinking and User Experience Design teach you to lead products and teams across borders.
Learning is applied throughout. In level two you build a team business plan in the Project Course, guided by faculty and industry mentors, and the degree closes with a capstone that puts your research and technology skills to work on a real business problem. IBU includes e-books in its fees and gives students access to learning resources such as Bloomberg for Education and LinkedIn Learning. Ontario’s Minister of Colleges and Universities gave IBU consent to award degrees in December 2020, and its BCom programmes carry NCMA accreditation.
Graduates move into roles where business and technology meet, such as business analyst, business technology analyst, IT consultant, product manager, data analyst and project manager. The degree suits students who enjoy both strategy and tools, and who want an international outlook without having to choose between a management path and a technology path.

Admission requirements
Who can apply (guide for international students):
- Education: Grade 12 or equivalent with at least 60 percent. IBU asks for official transcripts, a letter of intent and, where needed, a WES or ICAS evaluation.
- English (meet any one): IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 83 with no section below 20 (Home Edition and MyBest scores are not accepted); PTE Academic 60; the Duolingo English Test at 105; CAEL 70 with no band below 60; CELPIP 7 with no band below 7; or Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency at 175 with no component below 170. Scores must be less than two years old.
- Tuition and deposit: IBU lists international BCom tuition at CAD 9,250 a semester plus CAD 415 in fees that include e-books, which is CAD 19,330 for two semesters. A minimum deposit of CAD 4,975 secures the letter of acceptance, and every semester is paid before it starts. Mandatory GuardMe health cover costs about CAD 765 a year. Refunds carry a CAD 500 processing fee.
- Scholarship: Every international BCom applicant receives IBU’s International Bursary of CAD 9,000, and applicants from India also qualify for the Asia Bursary of a further CAD 9,000, a total of CAD 18,000 spread across the eight semesters (about CAD 2,250 a semester). It is awarded automatically at admission. IBU publishes it for intakes up to Fall 2026 and reviews it every year, so confirm it on your offer letter for a 2027 start. To keep it you must start before your offer expires, stay full time, keep good academic standing and pay the remaining fees on time.
- Study permit: IBU is a private university, so you need a provincial attestation letter from Ontario with your study permit application. The January 2026 exemption for master’s and doctoral students applies only to public institutions and does not cover IBU.
- Work rights: IBU holds ministerial consent to award this degree, so it is PGWP eligible without a field of study test and, at 32 months, supports a work permit of up to three years. The PGWP needs a CLB 7 language result in all four skills. A spouse or partner does not qualify for an open work permit through a bachelor’s programme.
