Program overview
Do you see your career crossing borders, in trade, sourcing or a multinational head office? The Master of Business Administration in Global Business Management at IBU is a 42 credit, four semester MBA that takes about 16 months at the Toronto campus, and it focuses on how companies compete and operate internationally.
You start with Financial Management, Business Analytics, Organizational Behaviour: Leading in a Diverse Environment and Marketing and Social Media, then move on to Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Information Technology and Digital Transformation, Research Methods and Global Trade and Finance. The third semester is built around three required courses, Strategy (For Tech Management), Global Supply Chain Management and Regulatory Environments, Ethics and CSR, plus one elective chosen from Managing Multinational Firms, Global Business Service Management, Business Planning and Communications, Interpersonal Skills and Negotiation.
By the end you can assess foreign markets, structure cross-border supply chains, weigh trade and currency risk and manage teams drawn from different cultures. The last semester is a capstone: a consulting project with an organisation, a business plan, or a major research paper on a global business question. Classes run on a flexible schedule of about two days a week, and IBU gives students access to Bloomberg for Education for market and trade research.
Graduates target roles such as international business development manager, global supply chain analyst, trade and export manager, procurement lead and operations manager, particularly with Toronto based importers, banks and multinationals that run operations across several countries. It also suits graduates who plan to build a career in their home market and want Canadian training in how multinational firms are run.

Admission requirements
Who can apply (guide for international students):
- Education: A recognised three year bachelor’s degree or higher, with at least 60 percent, in any discipline. GMAT and GRE are not required. IBU asks for official transcripts, a letter of intent and, where needed, a WES or ICAS evaluation.
- English (meet any one): IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 83 with no section below 20 (Home Edition and MyBest scores are not accepted); PTE Academic 60; the Duolingo English Test at 105; CAEL 70 with no band below 60; CELPIP 7 with no band below 7; or Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency at 175 with no component below 170. Scores must be less than two years old.
- Tuition and deposit: IBU lists international MBA tuition at CAD 9,800 a semester plus CAD 415 in fees that include e-books, about CAD 40,860 for the four semesters. A deposit is paid to receive the letter of acceptance, and each semester is paid before it starts. Mandatory GuardMe health cover costs about CAD 765 a year. Refunds carry a CAD 500 processing fee.
- Scholarship: No bursary is currently open to Indian applicants for this MBA. IBU’s MBA Head Start Bursary of CAD 5,000 is limited to a list of about 90 countries that does not include India, the Advancement Bursary is only for students from the Philippines and Vietnam, and the IBU Financial Aid Program is for Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Budget the full tuition.
- Study permit: IBU is a private university, so you need a provincial attestation letter from Ontario with your study permit application. The January 2026 exemption for master’s and doctoral students applies only to public institutions and does not cover IBU.
- Work rights: IBU holds ministerial consent to award this MBA, so it is PGWP eligible; as a master’s degree of at least eight months it supports a work permit of up to three years. The PGWP needs a CLB 7 language result in all four skills. At 16 months, the programme meets IRCC’s rule for a spouse or common-law partner to apply for an open work permit.
