Program overview
The English for Academic Purposes is a 2-20 month program at Fanshawe College’s London campus.
EAP meets students at their tested level and moves them upward through academic reading, writing, listening and presentation skills — with successful completion laddering directly into Fanshawe's credit programs, no re-application or new IELTS attempt required. It is the supported runway for capable students whose English scores arrive short.
The student infrastructure is mature — established housing near campus, transit in student fees, employers used to hiring international graduates — and Fanshawe’s PGWP-aligned list gives the post-study plan structure.
As a stand-alone English pathway, EAP is not itself PGWP-eligible — work-permit eligibility comes from the credit program students ladder into (final decisions rest with IRCC).

Admission requirements
Who can apply (guide for international students):
- Education: Completed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognised board with approximately 50% or better.
- IELTS: Not accepted — direct entry via program levels
- TOEFL iBT: Not accepted
- PTE: Not accepted
- Duolingo: Not accepted
- GRE/GMAT: Not required.
Application fee $100 CAD. Apply well before the February 1 equal-consideration date for September entry — capped international seats mean popular programs fill early. An Ontario Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) is arranged through admission. Ask an Apply Study Visa counsellor to verify current PGWP alignment and seats before applying.
