Program overview

The Graduate Certificate - Advanced Filmmaking (AFM2) is a 1 year program at Fanshawe College’s London campus.

Advanced Filmmaking operates like a production company with a curriculum: graduates write, direct and produce funded short films through an intensive year with industry placement, leaving with festival-ready work and set credits. It is the bridge between studying film and having filmography.

Students join a full college city on Oxford Street: labs, studios, residences and a students’ union with its own venues, backed by Ontario’s OINP and Express Entry routes for working graduates.

Field of study: CIP 50.0602 (Advanced filmmaking). Two eligible academic years support the full three-year permit; verify the program’s listing and IRCC’s current policy at application time.
