The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) – Finance is a four-year degree covering corporate finance, investments and financial markets.

Coursework moves from financial accounting and corporate finance fundamentals into investment analysis and portfolio management, financial markets and institutions, derivatives and risk management, financial modelling and valuation, international finance, fixed income analysis, and financial econometrics. Practical work is spreadsheet-heavy — students build discounted cash flow models, valuations and portfolio analyses rather than only studying the theory behind them.

Toronto is Canada’s financial centre and the second-largest in North America by several measures, which puts this degree in the right city. The coursework also maps toward CFA Level I preparation, giving graduates a recognised progression path.

All Humber Bachelor of Commerce degrees share a common business core across the first two years: financial and managerial accounting, microeconomics and macroeconomics, business mathematics and statistics, marketing principles, organisational behaviour, business law, information systems, operations management and business communication. Specialisation deepens through years three and four, alongside a work placement.

The work placement is a graded part of the program, so you finish with documented Canadian experience and a referee rather than only a transcript.
