Graduate Certificate - Sport Business Management

The Sport Business Management graduate certificate is a one-year postgraduate program with a placement, for diploma and degree holders targeting the commercial side of sport.

Coursework focuses on where sport revenue actually comes from: sponsorship valuation and activation, corporate partnership sales, ticketing and membership strategy, media rights and broadcast partnerships, sport marketing and brand management, digital and fan engagement, event and venue operations, sport finance and budgeting, and analytics applied to fan and commercial data. The placement puts students inside teams, agencies, venues or governing bodies.

Sport business hiring is relationship-driven and disproportionately shaped by who you worked with during study. The placement is therefore not an add-on to this credential — it is the main mechanism through which it produces a job.

The work placement is a graded part of the program, so you finish with documented Canadian experience and a referee rather than only a transcript.

Humber Polytechnic — formerly Humber College — is Ontario’s largest public college and a Designated Learning Institution (DLI O19376943122). The North campus in Etobicoke is its main site, running technology, engineering, health science, business and skilled trades programs in purpose-built labs and shops rather than lecture halls, with three intakes a year and the deepest employer network in the Greater Toronto Area.

Important: this is a college credential rather than a degree, so it is not exempt from the November 2024 PGWP field-of-study restriction — eligibility depends on this CIP field appearing on IRCC’s eligible list when you apply.
