Graduate Certificate - Wireless Telecommunications

The Wireless Telecommunications graduate certificate is a one-year postgraduate program with a placement, covering mobile and wireless network technology.

Coursework covers radio frequency fundamentals and propagation, cellular network architecture through LTE and 5G, radio access network planning and optimisation, core network and packet architecture, network performance measurement and drive testing, antenna systems and site engineering, wireless security, IoT and machine-to-machine connectivity, and network troubleshooting and operations.

Canada’s carriers and their equipment vendors run continuous network build and optimisation programs, and 5G densification in particular requires far more RF planning and optimisation work than earlier generations. The specialisation is narrow, which limits the number of roles but also the number of qualified competitors.

The work placement is a graded part of the program, so you finish with documented Canadian experience and a referee rather than only a transcript.

Humber Polytechnic — formerly Humber College — is Ontario’s largest public college and a Designated Learning Institution (DLI O19376943122). The North campus in Etobicoke is its main site, running technology, engineering, health science, business and skilled trades programs in purpose-built labs and shops rather than lecture halls, with three intakes a year and the deepest employer network in the Greater Toronto Area.
