Program overview
The College Certificate - General Arts and Science (GASC/GACJ/GACM) at Loyalist College's Belleville campus is a one-year college certificate that gives you a strong, career-focused education in this field.
This flexible program builds a strong academic foundation across the arts and sciences — English, mathematics, science, social science and study skills — helping you explore interests, meet prerequisites and prepare for further study. It is an ideal pathway if you want to strengthen your grades or transfer into another college or university program. The focus is preparation and pathways rather than a single career, giving you flexible options for your next step.
Offered at Loyalist College's Belleville campus, this is a preparation/pathway program that helps you meet the requirements for further study; on its own it is generally not eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit.
Graduates are well placed for roles such as University/College Transfer, Further Diploma/Degree Study and Entry to Health/Trades Programs, leaving with practical skills and real Canadian experience that employers value.
Beyond technical training, you will build the communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills that transfer across careers and support long-term success in Canada and beyond.
With small classes, supportive instructors and a hands-on approach, international students at Loyalist College get personal attention and a genuinely welcoming place to study.
