College Diploma - Early Childhood Education (ECEP)

The College Diploma - Early Childhood Education (ECEP) at Loyalist College's Belleville campus is a two-year college diploma that gives you a strong, career-focused education in this field.

You will prepare to nurture and teach young children from birth to age twelve — studying child development, play-based learning, curriculum planning, health and safety, inclusion and family relationships — with extensive field placements in licensed settings. Graduates are eligible to register as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in Ontario, entering a sector with strong, sustained demand in childcare centres, preschools and early-learning programs.

Delivered with hands-on labs and placements at Loyalist College's Belleville campus in eastern Ontario. This program is on Loyalist's official PGWP-aligned programs list (CIP 19.0709), so graduates may qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit — the final decision always rests with IRCC.

Graduates are well placed for roles such as Registered Early Childhood Educator, Childcare Centre Staff and Preschool/Kindergarten Assistant, leaving with practical skills and real Canadian experience that employers value.
