Bachelor of Business Administration (Co-op)

Would you rather try out your business classes in a real workplace before you graduate? The Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Administration with Co-op is the co-op route through the Buller School of Business BBA, a four-year degree taught on Providence’s rural residential campus in Otterburne, Manitoba.

Co-op students complete the full business core. After reaching C+ in Introduction to Management or Introduction to Business, they study how people act inside firms and markets in Organizational Behaviour and Consumer Behaviour, and learn to track performance through Management Information Systems and Corporate Finance. Commercial Law and Human Resource Management cover contracts and the rules of employing staff, while International Business, Entrepreneurship and Small and Family Business Management shape the upper years. Studies in Leadership and Ethics connect each placement back to the school’s values.

What sets this option apart is the applied work placement built into the degree, which Providence lists as a separate credential from the standard BBA. The same co-op model also appears in the four-year Business Admin Advanced Major and the three-year BA Major. Before heading out, co-op students join the business initiatives the Buller School uses to mirror the world of business, so they arrive at an employer already used to team projects and client-style deadlines. The work placement lets them test finance, marketing or human resources coursework against a real organisation’s priorities, with Christian faith framing how they reflect on those decisions.

Co-op graduates leave with workplace references as well as a transcript, which helps when applying for roles such as marketing coordinator, human resources assistant, operations coordinator and agri-business sales representative, in line with the accounting, marketing and agri-business paths Providence highlights. This version suits a student who learns best by doing and wants employer experience before convocation.
