Transportation, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management

Every parcel, rail car and grain shipment leaving Manitoba needs someone to plan its route, price its freight and keep its paperwork legal. RRC Polytech’s Transportation, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management certificate prepares you to be that person in just 12 months. Classes run Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, at the Notre Dame Campus in northwest Winnipeg, mostly in the classroom with some online sessions.

Term 1 introduces the field through Transportation Systems, Logistics Processes, Introduction to Supply Chain Management, Project Management Fundamentals, Introduction to Computers and Communication Strategies. Term 2 covers Economic Influences on Logistics, Transportation Law, Business Mathematics, Project Management Plan and Estimate, Communication for the Workplace and Success and Professionalism. The final term brings Integrated Logistics, Project Management Risk and Communication for Business together in the Applied Capstone Project, where you apply everything to a real logistics problem.

RRC Polytech offers this certificate in conjunction with the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation, and five of its courses are CITT accredited. The programme is accredited by CITT for credits towards the CITT Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation, giving you a head start on a recognised industry credential. You work with Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel, and handle real transport documents such as bills of lading, while the Applied Capstone Project provides the work-integrated learning component.

Graduates find roles such as logistics coordinator, supply chain analyst, transport logistician, procurement officer, buyer and logistics supervisor with trucking firms, rail and freight forwarders, distribution centres and manufacturers. The certificate suits organised problem-solvers who like numbers and deadlines and want a quick route into Winnipeg’s transportation hub economy.
