Program overview
The Post-Graduate Certificate - Leisure and Tourism Management at Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Prince Albert campus is a 1 year post-graduate certificate specialising degree-holders in leisure, recreation and tourism operations.
The post-graduate certificate covers program planning, facility and event operations, tourism services and management practice for the leisure economy. Prince Albert's lakes-and-parks region โ the doorstep of Prince Albert National Park โ is itself the case study.
Saskatchewan Polytechnic is the province of Saskatchewan’s public polytechnic, founded in 1959, with a graduate employment rate of about 96% — among the strongest in Canadian post-secondary education. The Prince Albert campus sits at the gateway to Saskatchewan’s north — the hub city for the province’s forestry, resource and northern health economies — offering small classes, close instructor attention and some of the lowest living costs of any Canadian campus city. Graduates who stay and work in Saskatchewan can also pursue the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) and the province’s Graduate Retention Program, which rebates up to $20,000 of tuition through tax credits.
This program is registered under CIP code 31.0301 (Parks, recreation and leisure facilities management) and appears on Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s published list of PGWP-eligible international programs under the post-November-2024 field-of-study rules. Programs of two academic years support a PGWP of up to three years; shorter programs support a PGWP matching program length. Eligibility lists change — verify the current Sask Polytech PGWP list and IRCC policy before applying (final decisions rest with IRCC).
