Honours Bachelor of Commerce - Business Management (Co-op)

The Honours Bachelor of Commerce – Business Management is a four-year co-op degree for students who want broad management capability rather than early specialisation.

Upper-year coursework covers strategic management, leadership and organisational development, project management, human resource management, operations and process improvement, change management, business analytics and decision modelling, entrepreneurship and business planning, international management, and an integrative strategy capstone drawing on the whole program.

Breadth is a deliberate trade-off. Specialised degrees produce faster entry into a defined function; general management degrees suit students aiming at graduate trainee programs, family business roles or entrepreneurship, where adaptability matters more than a single technical specialism. As a degree it is also exempt from the PGWP field-of-study restriction that applies to Seneca’s business diplomas.

All Seneca Honours Bachelor of Commerce degrees share a common business core: financial and managerial accounting, microeconomics and macroeconomics, business mathematics and statistics, marketing principles, organisational behaviour, business law, information systems, operations management and business communication. Specialisation deepens through the upper years alongside paid co-op work terms.

Co-op is a built-in part of this degree, so you graduate with paid Canadian work terms already on your resume rather than competing for a first role with no local experience.

Newnham is Seneca’s largest campus, on Finch Avenue East in North York, with its own residence, library, athletic centre and specialised technical labs. It sits on the TTC network with subway connections, and carries the bulk of Seneca’s business, technology and engineering catalogue — which means the widest range of student clubs, services and peers of any Seneca site.

Seneca Polytechnic — formerly Seneca College — is one of Ontario’s largest public colleges and a Designated Learning Institution. Newnham is its biggest campus, on Finch Avenue East in North York, and carries the bulk of Seneca’s business, technology, engineering technology, aviation and applied science catalogue. It has its own residence, a large library and athletic centre, and sits on the TTC network with connections to the subway.

Its field maps to CIP 52.0201 (Business administration and management). Because this is a degree, graduates are exempt from the November 2024 PGWP field-of-study restriction that applies to college credentials. Full-time on-campus study and graduation remain the conditions, and IRCC makes the final decision.
