Program overview
A one year college certificate offering general study across arts, sciences and social science, designed as a preparatory year toward university entry rather than as a vocational qualification.
This is the shorter of the two general arts and science routes at this campus, and neither appears on the PGWP-aligned list.
College Certificate in General Arts and Science, University Profile is taught at Sheridan College Hazel McCallion campus in Mississauga, a public Ontario college. Read this carefully: the general arts and science certificate sits below degree level and does NOT appear on Sheridan’s own list of PGWP-aligned programmes. Treat the general arts and science certificate as carrying no post-graduation work permit unless Sheridan confirms an eligible CIP code for the general arts and science certificate in writing. Ontario additionally requires a provincial attestation letter before any study permit application for the general arts and science certificate.
Entry to College Certificate in General Arts and Science, University Profile is Grade 12 or equivalent at 50 percent or above. The English requirement is IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5, and tuition for the general arts and science certificate is recorded at CAD 16,206. Sheridan charges a CAD 100 application fee, and no scholarship is recorded against the general arts and science certificate. The general arts and science certificate lists six entry windows across September, January and May, the earliest in January 2027. Apply Study Visa manages your the general arts and science certificate application, the deposit, the offer, the attestation letter and the Canadian study permit as one process.

Reality check: treat this as a bridge into a longer aligned programme rather than a destination, because on its own it supports no work permit.
