Program overview
The September intake of the Global MBA compresses the full programme into twelve months at Leicester Castle Business School. Core blocks take students through strategy, organisational leadership, global marketing, managerial finance and operations management, taught in DMU’s block format of one intensive module at a time, which keeps assessment deadlines from stacking up the way traditional semester MBAs do.
Beyond the core, the course is deliberately practice-heavy: a consultancy challenge run with an external organisation, leadership development workshops with psychometric feedback, and a final management research project that most students anchor to a specific industry problem — retail analytics, NHS service redesign and logistics cost modelling have all featured in recent cohorts. The Castle Business School location puts students five minutes from Leicester’s professional quarter, which helps with guest sessions and networking events.
Cohort composition works in the September intake’s favour — it is the larger of the two entry points, so elective choice, guest events and the alumni circle all run at full strength in the autumn cycle. Applicants should also note the £3,500 MBA-specific scholarship in the CourseFinder data, which no other course in the business faculty matches, and the absence of any application fee at either intake.
Graduates should plan around the visa arithmetic. A September 2026 starter completing in autumn 2027 will apply for the Graduate Route after the January 2027 rule change and therefore receives 18 months of open work permission, not the two years earlier cohorts enjoyed; dependants cannot join holders of taught-course student visas. Eighteen months is workable but unforgiving — UK managerial hiring cycles are slow, so treat the MBA year itself as the front end of the job search rather than a pause before it.

Admission requirements
Who can apply (guide for international students):
- Education: A four-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent as assessed by DMU) with a minimum of 70% per the portal export — note the CourseFinder source describes the same entry as a UK 2:2 honours class; verify the operative bar with DMU admissions.
- English (meet any one, per source): IELTS 6 overall with no band below 5.5; PTE Academic 59 overall (no component below 59); TOEFL 60 overall as recorded in source (legacy component format R-8, W-18, L-7, S-16); Duolingo English Test 105.
- English waiver: English test waiver may be available on Medium of Instruction plus Standard 12 English at 65% or above (2015 or later, all boards) except boards of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh — assessed case by case per the CourseFinder source.
- Application: No application fee. Deposit amount not stated in source — confirm with DMU International before CAS stage.
English requirements
โ MOI waiver: if your degree was taught in English, you may skip the test with a Medium-of-Instruction certificate. Ask us to confirm.

Career opportunities
Typical first destinations for graduates:
- Strategy Analyst — supporting planning cycles in corporates and consultancies
- Marketing Manager — owning campaigns and budgets for growth-stage firms
- Supply Chain Coordinator — procurement and logistics management roles
- HR Business Partner — people-strategy roles after CIPD top-up
- Financial Planning Analyst — FP&A support in mid-size businesses
- Entrepreneur / Founder — several cohort members launch ventures using the incubator support
Reality check: the one-year format is intense and leaves little time for part-time work plus job hunting, so start employer outreach in the first term, not after the final project.
