Program overview
The Bar Practice Course (BPC) at the University of Law prepares aspiring barristers for practice at the Bar of England & Wales. You’ll develop advocacy, drafting, opinion-writing and conference skills through intensive, practice-based training from experienced practitioners.
It is the vocational stage toward becoming a barrister, taught at the UK’s leading specialist law school.
What it costs per year · indicative
Living cost is an estimate; tuition is the institute's published international fee. We confirm exact, current figures before you pay anything.
Do you qualify?
These are the published minimums. Whether your profile fits — with your marks, gap and budget — is exactly what a free counsellor check confirms.
Admission requirements
Who can apply (guide for Indian students):
- Education: A completed Bachelor’s degree (3 or 4 years) (a qualifying law degree or conversion is required) from a recognised university. ULaw is flexible on academic background and considers applicants with backlogs.
- English test (any one): IELTS Academic 7.5 (no band below 7.5), or equivalent TOEFL/PTE. (Test under 1 year old.)
Scholarships: International scholarships / bursaries of around £1,000 may be available for this course (confirmed in your offer; ULaw also awards an annual International Bursary).
University of Law is a UKVI-licensed sponsor, so graduates can apply for the UK Graduate Route (2 years of post-study work).
