Program overview
A one year master degree for qualified nurses developing advanced practice, covering leadership in healthcare, evidence based practice, quality and safety, service improvement and a substantial research project.
Master of Science in Nursing raises the English requirement to IELTS 6.5 overall and is built for people who already hold a nursing qualification. It is not a conversion route for graduates from other subjects.
Master of Science in Nursing is delivered on the Sunderland campus and awarded by the University of Sunderland, and completing Master of Science in Nursing supports an application under the UK Graduate Route, which gives 18 months of post study work permission for applications made from January 2027.
