Sheridan College’s Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga runs 48 programmes for international students, with fees from CAD 14,703 and 26 of them carrying a co-op work term.

It is home to the Pilon School of Business. And that is exactly why this page exists: only 16 of the 48 programmes lead to a post-graduation work permit. Thirty-two do not.

Every other page about this campus lists fees and course counts. None of them tells you that all 13 graduate certificate bundles here are ineligible. We checked every programme against the CIP code Sheridan publishes for it.

🎓 Quick Fact: At Hazel McCallion, business works only at degree level. All 6 bachelor degrees are PGWP eligible because Sheridan states every bachelor and master programme is aligned with no field of study restriction. Below degree level, only 6 of the 31 business-family programmes qualify.

1. About Sheridan College Hazel McCallion Campus

Sheridan is a public Ontario college founded in 1967, with three campuses: Davis in Brampton, Trafalgar in Oakville, and Hazel McCallion in Mississauga. HMC opened in 2011, added a second building in 2017, and sits near Square One in central Mississauga.

2. Only 16 of 48 Programmes Lead to a Work Permit

Since 1 November 2024, graduates of programmes below bachelor level need an eligible field of study to qualify for a post-graduation work permit. Eligibility is decided by CIP code, and IRCC has frozen the list for 2026.

Sheridan publishes which of its programmes are aligned. We checked all 48 HMC programmes against that list.

Group Total Eligible
Bachelor degrees 6 All 6, exempt from the rule
Graduate certificates 22 Only 3
Diplomas 13 4
Advanced diplomas 4 1
Certificates 2 1
English language (EAP) 1 None. Language training is never eligible
⚠️ The business cluster is the problem. Thirty-one of the 48 programmes here are business, marketing, advertising, accounting, HR, project management or business analysis. Only 6 of those 31 qualify, and 4 of the 6 are degrees. Marketing alone has four routes at this campus and only the degree is eligible.
None of this makes them bad programmes. The Pilon School of Business is well regarded and these courses lead to real work. If you plan to return home after graduating, none of this applies to you. It matters only if your plan depends on staying in Canada to work.

3. The 13 Bundles: Read This Before You Pay

Hazel McCallion offers 13 graduate certificate bundles, meaning two certificates taken consecutively, priced from CAD 15,088 to 19,386 a year. The appeal is obvious: two consecutive one-year certificates count as a two-year credential, which normally supports a three year work permit instead of one.

⚠️ Not one of the 13 bundles at this campus is PGWP eligible. Every bundle pairs two certificates that are each absent from Sheridan’s aligned list. Stacking two ineligible programmes does not create eligibility. Length extends a permit you already qualify for; it cannot create one. This is the single most expensive misunderstanding available at this campus.

The certificates the bundles are built from are Marketing Management, Project Management, Business Analysis and Process Management, Human Resources Management, Creative Industries Management, Advertising Account Management and Public Relations. None of them is on the aligned list individually, so no combination of them is either.

If you want a two year study period that does qualify, look at Sheridan’s Davis campus in Brampton, where the Internet of Things bundle is built from an aligned certificate, or take an aligned two year diploma at HMC such as Cyber Security or Sustainable Construction.

4. The 16 Programmes That Do Qualify

Programme Level CIP code
BBA Marketing Management Degree Exempt
BBA Supply Chain Management Degree Exempt
BBA Accounting Degree Exempt
BBA Finance Degree Exempt
Interior Design (Honours) Degree Exempt
Creative Writing and Publishing Degree Exempt
Architectural Technology Adv Diploma 04.0403
Architectural Technician Diploma 04.0403
Computer Systems Technician, Cyber Security Diploma 11.1003
Construction Engineering Technician, Sustainability Diploma 15.1001
Nutrition and Food Service Management Diploma 19.0505
Personal Support Worker Certificate 51.2602
Supply Chain Management, Logistics Automation Grad Cert 52.0203
Applied Data Analytics and Visualization Grad Cert 30.7101
Financial Technology Grad Cert 30.7104
If you have a business background and want a graduate certificate that qualifies, there are exactly three: Supply Chain Management, Applied Data Analytics, and Financial Technology. Supply chain sits in the transport sector; the other two are recorded under statistics and analytics codes rather than business ones. That single classification difference is what separates them from the other 19.

5. Why the 6 Degrees Matter More Than Anything Else Here

Sheridan states plainly that all bachelor and master programmes are PGWP-aligned with no field of study restrictions. At a campus where two thirds of the catalogue fails the test, that makes the degrees decisive.

Field Degree Diploma or certificate in the same field
Marketing Eligible 3 routes, none eligible
Accounting Eligible Diploma not eligible
Interior Design Eligible Interior decorating diploma not eligible
Business, general Eligible Diplomas not eligible

The degrees ask 65 percent and cost CAD 18,115, except Interior Design at 20,572. Against a graduate certificate at 15,554 that leads nowhere for permit purposes, the degree is frequently the better purchase.

⚠️ Interior Design and Interior Decorating are different professions. The degree is the accredited route toward registered interior designer status. The decorating diploma is not, and it is also not PGWP eligible. If design is your field, that distinction decides everything.

6. All 48 Programmes by Level

Level Count Entry from

Diplomas, two year 13 Grade 12

7. Admission Requirements for Indian Students

You need Programmes Which
50 percent 17 Several diplomas and some bundles
65 percent 16 All 6 degrees, plus business diplomas
60 percent 14 Most graduate certificates and bundles
70 percent 1 Business Administration Marketing with co-op

There is no GMAT or GRE requirement anywhere, and the application fee is CAD 100 on every programme, payable whether or not you receive an offer.

8. English Language Requirements

Band Programmes IELTS TOEFL PTE Duolingo
Higher 28 6.5, none below 6.0 88 60 115
Standard 19 6.0, none below 5.5 80 58 105
No test 1 The English for Academic Purposes programme

Only two bands, and every programme accepts all four major tests. Graduate certificates and degrees sit on the higher band; most diplomas sit on the standard one.

9. The Second Language Test Nobody Mentions

⚠️ Passing the admission English test is not the end of it. Applying for a post-graduation work permit requires a second language test, taken within two years of applying: CLB 7 for degree graduates and CLB 5 for college credentials. Since the degrees are the strongest route at this campus, the higher bar applies to many students here. No competing page covering HMC mentions this.

10. Sheridan Hazel McCallion Fees 2026

Annual tuition (CAD) Typically
14,703 The cheapest. Business Administration Marketing advanced diploma
15,239 English for Academic Purposes
15,554 to 19,386 Graduate certificates and the 13 bundles
16,206 The most common figure, across 8 programmes
18,115 The four business administration degrees
20,572 The dearest. Interior Design degree

11. DLI Number and Study Permit

Sheridan College is a Designated Learning Institution, which your Canadian study permit application requires. The DLI number is issued to the college rather than to an individual campus, so the same number covers Hazel McCallion, Davis and Trafalgar.

⚠️ Take the DLI number from your offer letter, not from any website including this one. Several pages publish a DLI for Sheridan, and figures on third party sites go stale or get transcribed wrongly. Your letter of acceptance carries the correct number, and it must match what you enter on the permit application. You will also need a Provincial Attestation Letter from Ontario and proof of funds, usually through a GIC.

12. Cost of Living in Mississauga

Item Approximate monthly cost (CAD)
Shared room 750 to 1,000
Food and groceries 350 to 500
Transit, phone and miscellaneous 200 to 350
Realistic annual total 15,600 to 22,200

Mississauga is Canada’s sixth largest city and part of the Greater Toronto Area, so it costs more than Brampton or Kitchener and less than downtown Toronto. The campus sits near Square One with strong transit links, which keeps travel costs manageable but pushes rents up nearby.

⚠️ There is no residence at Hazel McCallion. Sheridan residence is located at the Davis and Trafalgar campuses. HMC students rent privately, and central Mississauga is a competitive rental market. Start looking early and budget the higher end of the range above.

13. Intakes and Deadlines

Intake Programmes offering it
September 46 of 48
January 34
May 16
October, March, July, November A handful of rolling starts

Across 199 recorded entry windows this is a flexible calendar. Sheridan admits on a rolling basis until seats fill, so apply four to six months ahead. The English for Academic Purposes programme has fifteen entry windows, the most flexible start at this campus.

14. Co-op on 26 of 48 Programmes

Twenty six of the 48 programmes carry a co-op work term, which is genuinely strong provision and one of the real arguments for this campus.

Canadian co-op is paid, and it solves the hardest problem an international graduate faces: having no Canadian work history. Many are described as optional rather than guaranteed, so confirm whether a placement is assured or competitive before you rely on it. Mississauga sits inside the Greater Toronto Area employment market, which helps considerably with placement.

15. Can You Bring Your Family?

⚠️ No programme at this campus supports a spousal open work permit. Canada’s 2024 rules restrict those to master degrees of 16 months or longer, doctorates and certain professional programmes. The six bachelor degrees here do not qualify. If bringing your spouse on an open work permit is essential, look at Canadian university master programmes instead.

16. Hazel McCallion or Davis? A Direct Comparison

  Hazel McCallion, Mississauga Davis, Brampton

Programmes 48 57

Same college, same application fee, same English requirements. The difference in work permit outcomes is stark, and it comes entirely from the subject mix rather than from any difference in quality.

17. What Other HMC Pages Get Wrong

Claim you will see The actual position
Sheridan described as a “Public University Sheridan is a public college. It grants some degrees, but the distinction matters for credential assessment and for how IRCC treats your programme
38 courses” at this campus We count 48 open to international applicants, including 13 bundles and the EAP programme
Tuition “starts at CAD 15,644 The lowest fee here is CAD 14,703. Another page prices the EAP programme at 17,169 when it is 15,239
Bundles listed pairing HMC certificates with Davis campus programmes Quality Assurance Manufacturing and Professional Accounting are Davis programmes. Campus content is being mixed together
“Acceptance rate is 65 percent Ontario colleges do not publish acceptance rates. Admission is by programme, on marks and seat availability
Enrolment given as 5,500, 6,800 and 6,400 international Three sources, three numbers. Treat all campus-level enrolment figures with caution
Nothing about which programmes fail the field of study test 32 of 48 are ineligible, including every one of the 13 bundles. No competing page names a single one

18. How to Apply to Sheridan Hazel McCallion

Applying through the Apply Study Visa portal is free. Sheridan charges CAD 100, payable regardless of outcome.

  1. Decide your endpoint first. If you intend to work in Canada afterwards, that removes 32 of the 48 programmes immediately.
  2. Do not choose a bundle for work permit reasons. None of the 13 qualifies, whatever the study length suggests.
  3. Consider the degree. At 65 percent entry and CAD 18,115, it is the strongest route at this campus by a distance.
  4. We get the CIP code in writing and check it against the current IRCC eligible list before you pay a deposit.
  5. We submit and guide you through the offer, deposit, attestation letter, GIC and study permit as one process.

The three costly mistakes here are buying a bundle expecting a three year permit, taking a marketing or accounting diploma when the degree is the eligible route, and assuming a business campus means business programmes qualify. Check your eligibility free, or read our Canada study permit guide.

19. Is Sheridan Hazel McCallion Good for Indian Students?

For the right programme, genuinely yes. The Pilon School of Business is well regarded, 26 of 48 programmes carry paid co-op, the campus sits in the Greater Toronto Area employment market, and the six degrees are all PGWP eligible.

The counterweight is unavoidable: two thirds of the catalogue does not lead to a work permit, and the 13 bundles that look like the smart two year play are all ineligible.

It suits you if

  • You can reach 65 percent and want a business degree, which is the strongest route here.
  • You want supply chain, data analytics or financial technology, the three aligned graduate certificates.
  • You want architecture, cyber security or sustainable construction, all aligned diplomas.
  • You want paid co-op inside the Toronto employment market.
  • You are returning home after graduating, in which case the permit question does not apply at all.

It does not suit you if

  • You were planning a bundle to secure a three year work permit.
  • You want marketing, advertising, HR, project management or accounting below degree level and intend to stay.
  • You need a spouse to receive an open work permit.
  • You want residence on campus. There is none at HMC.
  • You want health or trades. Those are at the Davis campus in Brampton.

20. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Are Sheridan Hazel McCallion programmes PGWP eligible?

Only some. 16 of 48 are. 32 are not. All six bachelor degrees qualify because Sheridan states every bachelor and master programme is aligned with no field of study restriction. Most business programmes below degree level do not qualify.

Q: Are the Sheridan bundle programs PGWP eligible?

No. Not one of the 13 bundles at this campus is eligible. Each pairs two certificates that are individually absent from Sheridan’s aligned list. Two ineligible programmes stacked together do not become eligible, however long the combined study period.

Q: What are Sheridan Hazel McCallion fees for international students?

CAD 14,703 to 20,572 a year. The most common figure is 16,206. The four business administration degrees cost 18,115 and Interior Design costs 20,572.

Q: What is the DLI number for Sheridan Hazel McCallion?

Sheridan’s DLI is issued to the college, so one number covers all three campuses. Take it from your offer letter rather than from any website, since third party figures go stale and the number must match your permit application exactly.

Q: What marks do I need for Sheridan Hazel McCallion?

Fifty percent on 17 programmes, 60 percent on 14, and 65 percent on 16, including all six degrees. One programme asks 70 percent. There is no GMAT or GRE requirement.

Q: What IELTS score does Sheridan Hazel McCallion require?

Either 6.5 with no band below 6.0 on 28 programmes, or 6.0 with no band below 5.5 on 19. Every programme accepts IELTS, TOEFL, PTE and Duolingo.

Q: Is Hazel McCallion the Pilon School of Business campus?

Yes. HMC houses the Pilon School of Business, along with architecture programmes in the wing opened in 2017. Health, trades and most technology programmes are at the Davis campus in Brampton.

Q: Which Hazel McCallion graduate certificates qualify for a work permit?

Exactly three: Supply Chain Management Logistics Automation, Applied Data Analytics and Visualization, and Financial Technology. The other 19, including all 13 bundles, do not.

Q: Does Sheridan Hazel McCallion have residence?

No. Sheridan residence is at the Davis and Trafalgar campuses. HMC students rent privately in Mississauga, which is a competitive market, so start looking early.

Q: How many intakes does Sheridan Hazel McCallion have?

September on 46 programmes, January on 34, and May on 16, plus a few rolling October, March, July and November starts, across 199 entry windows.

Q: What is the CLB requirement for a PGWP?

A second language test within two years of applying: CLB 7 for degree graduates and CLB 5 for college credentials. This is separate from your admission English test.

Q: Does Apply Study Visa charge for Sheridan applications?

No. Counselling, application review and submission are free, including the CIP code check and the bundle eligibility check. Sheridan’s own CAD 100 fee still applies. We are paid by the institutions we work with, which is exactly why we will tell you plainly when a programme carries a risk.

Confirm before you pay. Get the CIP code in writing and check it against the current IRCC list, since IRCC decides and not the college. If you are considering a bundle, confirm the eligibility of both halves separately. Take the DLI number from your offer letter. Confirm whether a co-op place is guaranteed or competitive. Plan for the CLB test before you graduate. Programme details cover all 48 Hazel McCallion programmes open to international applicants and were checked in September 2026. IRCC rules, tuition and living costs are revised regularly.
