The University of Gloucestershire took its present form in 2001, built on institutions in Cheltenham and Gloucester dating back to the nineteenth century. Park is its technical and creative site, sitting a short distance from the Francis Close Hall campus in the same town.

2. The IELTS Writing 7.5 Problem
The requirement is defensible. These courses produce working journalists, and written accuracy is the trade. But it is a hard gate rather than a preference, and it is the single most common reason a strong applicant is turned away from this campus.
3. Cyber Security and the GCHQ Question
Cheltenham houses GCHQ, the United Kingdom’s signals intelligence agency, and a dense private cyber industry has grown up around it. On paper that makes Park an outstanding place to study security. Four courses cover the field: a bachelor degree with placement and foundation variants, a masters, a research masters and a cyber forensics masters.
The same caution applies to Cyber Forensic Investigation. Digital forensics inside British policing requires vetting and residency history. Commercial investigation, eDiscovery work in law firms and financial fraud teams are the realistic destinations, and the course content transfers to all of them.
4. The Certificate That Is Not a Degree
If progression to a degree is the plan, the question to ask in writing is how many credits transfer. A certificate that grants entry to the second year of a related degree has a clear purpose. One that does not leaves you a year and GBP 17,950 down with a qualification that may not support a visa extension.

A research masters replaces taught modules with a supervised independent project. For someone heading toward doctoral study, or who already has a question worth pursuing, it is both cheaper and more useful than a taught course. Each carries five entry windows, which makes them the most flexible starts on this campus.
Law appears as both an arts and a science research masters. The difference is method, doctrinal and theoretical against empirical, not standing. Neither qualifies you to practise law in England, which requires the separate SQE route.
